About Deborah and Jack Bartello
Deborah's background: Spirituality and Art were the two mainstays in Deborah's early life. Having a mother who was very involved in her own spiritual search and awakening, Deborah had an unusual upbringing wherein the presence and acknowledgment of spiritual Beings was part of her everyday life. Her mother's Master Teacher in spirit was like a second father to her since her own father was often away traveling on business. And growing up in Europe, her mother fostered her creative talent by exposing her to a great deal of the cultural diversity in addition to encouraging her artistic studies early on.
In 1975, Deborah received her Bachelors degree in Applied Arts from Finch College in N.Y.C. She had been working as a professional artist and stained glass designer for three years when an unexpected opportunity propelled her to change careers and move into the helping profession. Subsequently, she went back to school and received her M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University in 1980. For the next three years, she had a successful and innovative practice as a Rehabilitation Consultant specializing in the psychological adjustment of individuals with physical disabilities, primarily spinal cord injuries. She found her work intensely inspiring and fulfilling, but after several years she realized that a deeper spiritual element was missing from her training and her work.
Through her mother, she discovered The Patricia Hayes School of Inner Sense Development and, first, was a student and then became an instructor of energy based Ro-Hun Therapy, Hypnotherapy and a variety of alternative subjects. In 1985 she was certified as a Minister, Master Teacher, Ro-Hun therapist, Hypnotherapist and Trance Channel. She had also gone back into her art, but from the spiritual perspective for which she had been yearning. This is when she birthed her current style of art in the energy pictures and soul portraits she has since been doing for people throughout the U.S.
Deborah brings a level of professionalism, directness and humility to all of her work. Her love and devotion of being a co-creator with God, coupled with her knowledge of the inner workings of people, enables her to inspire and reach her clients on a deep and rich level. Her creative genius is ever apparent in all that she does. She is a strong and caring force of love and light and ever the "way-shower."
Jack's background: In his late teens, a strong desire for spiritual depth and awakening led him to many enriching experiences. He studied and explored eastern religion, Macrobiotic healing philosophy, other food and nutritional therapies, Yoga and various meditative disciplines. He found in meditation a peace within himself which he has continued to renew daily.
Having left college during the height of the Vietnam war, he went alone atop a mountain in northern California and vision quested, fasting and meditating for 30 days, having what he calls "Christ-like" experiences. It was a profound and life changing time for him, leading him more deeply on his spiritual path and healing journey. He went on to further explore alternative therapies, energy and healing.
Jack also had a natural inclination for business. He moved into the business arena and pursued his goals with enthusiasm and determination. Combining the communication skills he developed in his personal growth work of the 70's, he built a successful career in computer sales and management. Even though he found financial success, inside he felt something important was missing-it was his spirit calling him.
Shortly thereafter, Jack had a profound healing experience which led to his decision to leave his career in computer sales and move toward further developing his healing and teaching abilities. In 1984 he attended the Patricia Hayes School of Inner Sense Development for two years, becoming a Minister, Hypnotherapist, Master Teacher, Ro-Hun energy therapist and Trance Channel. He and Deborah met at the school and together they moved to Florida where they established The Healing Institute in Vero Beach. Here they did extensive private energy work with clients as well co-leading workshops and intensives in spiritual development.
In all of his spiritual work, Jack brings a quality of authenticity, love, lightness and humor. Throughout his journey, he has understood that, as a male, he especially needed to focus on retrieving the sensitive side of his nature in order to not only facilitate his own growth, but others' as well. As a result, he has grown stronger in himself and infinitely more balanced as a spiritual Being. He is a shining role model for the many males in our culture who feel threatened and confused by their emerging sensitivity.
Being close to nature has always been most important to Deborah and Jack. They studied with Machaelle Wright, founder of Perelandra Nature Research Center and author of several books. Their studies with Machaelle focused on working co-creatively with the Nature Intelligences. They also studied with Del Hall, founder of the Nature Awareness School. With Del they studied wilderness survival and Native American tradition. Their work reflects their deep love and regard for Mother Earth.
In 1988, they moved their base of operations to their farm in central Virginia, traveling to different parts of the country doing their healing work and seminars. In 1990, having both had a deeply awakening spiritual experience, they moved west where they continued their work in Sacramento, California under their new business name of Lightworks! The intention of their work shifted from healing people to awakening and transforming them as well as teaching them to heal themselves.
In 1991, Deborah and Jack had yet another profound spiritual experience which led them to move to Mount Shasta, California. Here they spent one month in solitary retreat on the mountain communing closely with a number of Ascended Masters. This profound, life altering experience precipitated the opening of their Lighthouse Retreat Center in Mount Shasta where they conducted Ascended Master intensives for two years. Students came from all over the country to participate in these workshops to deepen their spiritual awareness and connection.
At the end of this two year period, Deborah and Jack were quite literally "propelled" off the mountain and returned back to their farm in Central Virginia with instructions to "take this work out to the people." They continued conducting their Ascended Master Intensives as well as their other transformational work. In 1994, they founded Interlight, School of Interdimensional Creativity.
In 1998, having completed their book, We the People Are the Messiah, they moved back to Mount Shasta where they changed their business name to Project Enlightenment, emphasizing that it is now time for all of us to claim our true Mastery. They continue conducting their intensives as well as promoting their book.
Both Deborah and Jack are creative leaders and seers in their own right and joyously offer their assistance in facilitating others in their spiritual awakening. The strength of their union as a couple goes far beyond the traditional definition of relationship. What makes their coupling unique is their complete and utter devotion to spirit. They realize their relationship is not about self, but about God, their higher purpose and the "higher good." They both believe we are all here to shine and are committed toward this end both in themselves and everyone they meet.
